About Daniel J. Goodrich
Dan is a business litigator and first-chair trial lawyer focused on close-corporation and LLC disputes—including shareholder and member conflicts, derivative actions, books-and-records demands, freeze-outs, and breach-of-fiduciary-duty claims. He has tried cases to verdict and judgment in state and federal courts and guides clients through every stage of litigation, from pleadings and dispositive motions to trial and appeal.
Beyond business-divorce matters, Dan handles complex commercial cases involving breach of contract, defamation, and commercial disparagement, government contracting, and claims under the False Claims Act and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He also represents companies and high-profile individuals in white-collar investigations and enforcement proceedings, including matters alleging wire and mail fraud, public corruption, insider trading, and CAN-SPAM violations.
In the construction arena, Dan represents owners, contractors, and developers—public and private—on contract disputes, bid protests, licensing issues, project delays, and related claims. He has also advised casinos and gaming organizations on contract claims, licensing, and regulatory challenges.
Dan maintains an active land-use practice for homeowners and neighborhood groups. He appears before local zoning and land-use boards and litigates appeals (including under G.L. c. 40A, § 17) in the Land Court and Superior Court.
Committed to public service, Dan has counseled dozens of survivors of domestic abuse in restraining-order matters—conducting interviews, preparing affidavits, and appearing in court—and was recognized on the Supreme Judicial Court’s Pro Bono Honor Roll.
Before joining the firm, Dan practiced in the Boston office of an Am Law 100 firm. He clerked for the Hon. Elspeth B. Cypher of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and for the Hon. Elspeth B. Cypher, Joseph M. Ditkoff, and Mary T. Sullivan of the Massachusetts Appeals Court. Earlier, as a supervising attorney with the Massachusetts Civil Appeals Clinic, he assisted more than 170 indigent pro se litigants across a range of civil matters.
