Murphy & King Shareholder Kathleen Cruickshank to Co-Moderate IWIRC New England Panel

Murphy & King, P.C. announced today that Shareholder Kathleen R. Cruickshank will co-moderate the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) New England panel celebrating women on the Bankruptcy Bench with co-moderator Christina Turgeon on Wednesday, May 19 at 4:30pm.

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the New England Network of IWIRC, the panel will consist of five accomplished women jurists who will discuss their paths to the bench and reflect upon how being a woman has impacted their careers. They include:

  • Janet E. Bostwick
  • Diane Finkle
  • Joan N. Feeney (ret.)
  • Elizabeth D. Katz
  • Carol J. Kenner (ret.)

Ms. Cruickshank focuses her practice on representing debtors, trustees and creditors in complex Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 cases and representing debtors in non-bankruptcy workouts. Ms. Cruickshank appears regularly in the United States Bankruptcy Court, represents plaintiffs and defendants in litigation arising in bankruptcy proceedings, and has represented bankruptcy trustees before the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the Alcoholic Beverages and Control Commission. Ms. Cruickshank is a Section Co-chair of the Bankruptcy Law Section of the Boston Bar Association (BBA), and previously served as a co-chair of the Education Committee of the Section which has organized several educational events for the BBA over the past few years. Ms. Cruickshank is a board member of the IWIRC New England Network. She was recently recognized in 2021 Best Lawyers “Women in the Law” Business Edition.
