Murphy & King Shareholder Kathleen Cruickshank Named Section Co-chair for Bankruptcy Law Committee of Boston Bar Association
August 19, 2020Murphy & King, P.C. announced today that Shareholder Kathleen Cruickshank has been named Section Co-chair for the Bankruptcy Law Section of the Boston Bar Association (BBA). Ms. Cruickshank will officially be stepping into the position in September.

Ms. Cruickshank is currently the Co-chair of the BBA’s Bankruptcy Law Section’s Bankruptcy Education and Bench Bar Subcommittee. In that capacity, she has organized multiple educational events for the BBA leading up to her official start as Bankruptcy Law Section Co-chair. She has participated in the development of webinars such as “Bench Meets Bar Pandemic Editions” and “Telephonic 341 Meetings: Insights from the United States Trustee and Chapter 7 Panel Trustees.” Ms. Cruickshank was also recently named to the BBA’s Bankruptcy Section’s newly formed COVID-19 Standing Committee.
Ms. Cruickshank focuses her practice on corporate and consumer bankruptcies, with an emphasis on representation of debtors in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 cases and representation of Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustees in the liquidation of assets and in litigation matters. Ms. Cruickshank is a highly experienced bankruptcy practitioner who appears regularly in the United States Bankruptcy Court and has represented bankruptcy trustees before the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the Alcoholic Beverages and Control Commission.
The Bankruptcy Law Section of the BBA allows solo and large-firm practitioners from consumer and business bankruptcy worlds to connect, share experiences and explore evolving legal issues. The Section sponsors the popular Bankruptcy Bench Meets Bar Conference each spring and a variety of community service opportunities through the year.
