Murphy & King’s D. Ethan Jeffery to be Inducted into the American College of Bankruptcy
January 8, 2020Murphy & King Shareholder D. Ethan Jeffery will be inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy on March 13, 2020, in Washington, DC. Attorney Jeffery will join other Fellows from the U.S. and across the globe in the College’s 31st class who are being honored and recognized for their professional excellence and exceptional contributions to the bankruptcy and insolvency practice. The American College of Bankruptcy is an honorary association of bankruptcy and insolvency professionals and plays an important role in sustaining professional excellence in the field.
Mr. Jeffery is known for his expertise in representing debtors, trustees, and creditors in complex chapter 11 cases and representing debtors and creditors in non-bankruptcy restructurings and workouts. In addition, he has represented debtors, creditors’ committees, and secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy and other insolvency proceedings in courts in most states along the Atlantic seaboard. Mr. Jeffery represents plaintiffs and defendants in commercial litigation in bankruptcy proceedings and other litigation matters relating to the debtor-creditor relationship. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Boston Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute and Chairman of the Massachusetts Clients’ Security Board.

Mr. Jeffery and other Fellows are selected using specific criteria, including: the highest standard of professionalism, ethics, character, integrity, professional expertise and leadership contributing to the enhancement of bankruptcy and insolvency law and practice; sustained evidence of scholarship, teaching, lecturing or writing on bankruptcy or insolvency; community service; and commitment to elevating knowledge and understanding of the profession and public respect for the practice.
The Induction Ceremony and Reception in honor of the new Fellows will take place at the Smithsonian Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture.
