June 18, 2020Murphy & King Shareholder Kate Cruickshank, as co-chair of the Education Subcommittee of the Boston Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Section, is helping organize the upcoming BBA webinar “2020 Bankruptcy Bench Meets Bar Part 2,” taking place on June 25th from 3 to 5pm via Zoom. The webinar will have two panels: “Impact of COVID-19 Emergency Measures on Chapter 13” and “The Small Business Reorganization Act In Action”. Murphy & King attorney Sarah Tricot will be a panelist on “Impact of COVID-19 Emergency Measures on Chapter 13”. Topics for that panel will include changes to bankruptcy law under the CARES Act, the Massachusetts moratorium on foreclosures/evictions and its impact on bankruptcy, and potential pre-emption issues arising from prior Massachusetts foreclosure prevention laws.
