Murphy & King Announces New Shareholder, Attorney Steven M. Veenema

Murphy & King, Professional Corporation announced today that Attorney Steven M. Veenema has been elected a Shareholder of the firm. After beginning his career at a large Boston firm, Veenema has been practicing at Murphy & King since 2012. He represents clients in complex business disputes, focusing on shareholder, intellectual property and employment-related litigation.

“Steve has been doing great work for clients over the past five years, and will be another strong leader to carry us into the future,” said Daniel J. Lyne, shareholder at Murphy & King and co-leader of the firm’s Litigation Group.

Mr. Veenema represents and advises companies, board members and individual employees and shareholders in various industries, including finance, high-tech, real estate and retail. He also represents clients before the Patent and Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeals Board, and counsels both employers and employees on workplace issues, including termination, compensation and discrimination.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Veenema has handled a variety of corporate disputes among shareholders and other business stakeholders, from start-up co-founders to family business owners and long-time business partners. He has significant experience both prosecuting and defending claims arising under employment contracts, and has successfully defended employers both in court and before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.

Veenema has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Grove City College and a Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University Law School, magna cum laude.  He resides in South Hamilton, Mass.
